Cafe Jean Bart in the Marias. Our hearts go out to Kathleen and her staff.
We have recently returned from a glorious 7 week stay in the Marias and Kathleen (le patron) made us so welcome and showed us such kindness - not to mention great food. She has run this bar/tabac for years and told us they will have to bury her under a pile of Breton mussells.
We wanted to send her a Xmas card and it it was only when I was trying to find the address of her cafe/tabac in google that I found your post and terrible news re the fire.
We chanced upon the restaurant on our first night in Paris and Kathleen indulged our poor french with 2-3 hours of her time.
Please pass on or message to her and we will hope to re-visit when we return n Dec 2008.
